Santa Marta’s lighthouse blue and white striped tower is one of Cascais most recognizable sights. It dates back to the 19th-century, but it was recently restored in a way that subtly blends its quaint features with a contemporary look and feel.
Since then, it opened to the public and it’s Portugal’s first lighthouse museum, with two exhibition areas enriched with interactive displays and multimedia presentations – one dedicated to Portuguese Lighthouses and another to this lighthouse and the lighthouse keeper’s profession. Entrance is free.
